Dear beloved community,

We are so thankful for the declining numbers of cases in Montgomery County and the region, and are excited to invite you back to in-person worship.

  • We will return to in-person worship on Sunday, February 27th at 10:00 a.m. The service will also be accessible live streamed on YouTube.
  • The 5:00 p.m. Service will continue on Zoom only** until we can adjust the quality of the hybrid worship experience (in-person and remote at the same time)
  • The 8:00 a.m. Service will return in-person only on Sunday, March 20.
  • For the time being, masks are required throughout the building to facilitate congregational singing and protect the vulnerable. We strongly suggest wearing either surgical or K95 masks as we know these are the most effective. As always, there are surgical masks available should you need one.
  • Worship leaders will mask, remove masks to speak, and re-mask. The cantor will remain masked throughout the service.
  • Children’s Chapel: This Sunday and next February 27 and March 6 we will hold 9:30 a.m. Zoom Children’s Chapel and 10:00 a.m. in-person Children’s Chapel in the Parish Hall. On March 6, we will provide supervised activities and snacks for children in the Parish Hall while parents attend the hybrid Annual Meeting in the sanctuary after the 10:00 a.m. Service. We will resume hybrid Children’s Chapel, on Zoom and in-person, at 10:00 a.m. on March 13. Adults and children attending any in-person services will be masked. Click Here for a detailed listing of Children’s Chapel Worship and Activity Times.
  • Ash Wednesday Services will be held at Noon and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2. The Noon service will be in-person only; 6:30 p.m. will be in-person and live-streamed.
  • We will reassess in 3 weeks with a plan to move to a policy of “mask optional” in-person worship later in March.
  • No coffee hour until we move to mask-optional worship.

Why not “mask optional” now, given the lifting of the indoor mask mandate? We are choosing a two-tiered approach to accommodate the breadth of parishioners’ and staff members’ comfort levels. We are counting on the fact that people who are comfortable coming back in person won’t mind wearing masks to accommodate their neighbors who also want to return in-person but are not yet comfortable in a mask optional environment.

EVERYONE is tired of pandemic protocols. Yet as we begin to emerge from this chapter of the pandemic, it is important to extend compassion and understanding to one another.

As always, should you have symptoms of any kind, we encourage you to stay home and worship with us online! We are one community, one church wherever we are, connected by the Spirit and by love for one another.

Blessings and love to one and all,

Emily, the Wardens, & the Regathering Committee

*Note: this is a change from the first announcement.
